• This resource should be 3-5 years experienced.
• MUST Skills - Oracle DBA with 9i and 10g experience. UNIX admin skills are must.
• Good SQL skills - Should be able to understand, write and analyze queries. These skills are required especially when there are performance related issues on a database. PL/SQL knowledge is a must.
• Unix Skills - Should be familiar with Unix commands as all the Oracle servers have been built in Unix environment.
• Shell scripting - This is a secondary skill and the basic knowledge is preferred. Resource should have worked in Dev environment in addition to Production environment so that he can anticipate a problem that can occur rather than working on the problem after it occurs in the production environment.
Job Description :
Resource should have actively worked on following. - Release - DDL - Compilation Errors - Understanding of Objects - Datafixes - Scheduling of DBA jobs - Database Refreshes Experience on tools like TOAD is preferred. Understanding of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) is preferred. High Level Activities: Support for UAT environments Refresh of UAT and Dev environments Datafixes Script execution/review from developers Weekly release of DB's to various environments as a part of weekly deployments Create shell scripts and modify on as and need basis DB cloning Create subset of databases from Production Data sanitization from Production Support for SWIFT application database Auditing of DB servers for space utilization
