Job Description:
Oracle DBA
The Database Administrator (DBA) will provide database administration support in the development and integration testing (IT) environments to the PES (Payments Engineering Solutions) development teams. The candidate is expected to install databases and migrate database changes and to provide database administration management and leadership. The candidate will work with a global team that includes developers in India and the US.
 
Responsibilities
- Install database software and patches
- Migrate database changes and stored procedures / packages / objects
- Create seed databases and refresh databases
- Create new database instances
- Scrub production data for test use
- Configure and document PES database environments
- Troubleshoot database environment problems
- Act as a single point of contact for tracking, driving, escalating, coordinating, and communicating the resolution of development environment issues
- Maintain and document the dba support strategy
- Schedule and communicate the assigned purposes of development environments
- Ensure consistent versioning of database environments
- Coordinate the backfilling and refreshing of development environments between and releases
- Act on development db environment capacity requirements to implement capacity/performance enhancements to the development db environments
- Maintain dba service levels, workflow process, work tickets, and service metrics

Experience Level - 3.5 - 6 years
Skills Required
- Expert understanding of Oracle 10g and./or 11g, related Oracle tools, Streams, and CDC
- Experience with large OLTP platforms
- Kornshell scripts
- Oracle upgrade experience
- DB capacity planning
- DB performance / tuning
- DB design and data modeling
- Version control processes
- Solaris and Linux
