Provide technical leadership to team to achieve project goals for schedule & quality successfully  Lead and coordinate project delivery effectively with other groups like Development, Release Management etc.  Lead medium to high complexity projects  Carry out estimation for testing efforts and validate scope and assess risk  Prepare test plans, strategy, allocate tasks, monitor team performance  Perform test execution, defect analysis as necessary  Conduct review of test artifacts to ensure high quality  Take initiatives to mentor, motivate team to perform  Proactively identify problems and take suitable measures to arrest them  Report project status to reporting supervisor and business partners  Improve efficiency in test design & execution  Promote initiatives to build domain specialists/SME  Create awareness of testing techniques, quality assurance tasks  Carry out test process maturity assessment, feasibility studies for new assignments  Identify training needs, provide trainings as necessary  Assist in the hiring and assimilation of new employees  Show creativity and innovation to improve efficiency and quality of work  Assist in evaluating alternative protocols, tools, standards and systems investments

Desired Skills:

Understanding of SDLC & STLC, Testing Methodologies, Test Case Development, Defect Reporting & Tracking.  Should have executed the complete STLC of atleast one project into manual testing.  Knowledge of mainframe testing is mandate.  Should be able to prepare project management related plans (PMP, QP, CMP, RMP etc).  Strong knowledge of development & operational maintenance environments.  Able to lead & walk-through of design documents.  Automation is preferred.

Provide team leadership in areas of specific technical knowledge.  Implement the project processes efficiently and ensure the continuous process improvement.  Report project status and metrics  Encourage and assist team to develop utilities for repeatable tasks.  Provide training and assistance on full range of technical issues.  Help developing project cost and benefit estimates, including identification and evaluation of alternatives.  Carry out human resources administration activities such as interviewing job applicants, providing input to performance evaluations, etc.  Receive general direction with occasional work review on other aspects.

Desired Skills:

Should have executed the complete SDLC on at least one project using JCL, DB2, VSAM, COBOL and CICS. Preferred skills –REXX, CLIST, MQ series.  B.Tech./MCA/Graduation (Minimum 15 years of formal education, Correspondence courses are not relevant).  Experience: around 7 Years.  Strong analytical and problem solving skill.  Good written & oral Communication skills.  Should have played a role of technical mentor in his/her career
